Tasting Experience: Expect rose in the aroma before the first sip even lands, then bright, juicy mandarin orange, sweet and vibrant, with real fruit character. The cup finishes on ripe cherry, lingering long after the cup is empty.

Ideal for: Brewing as a pour-over to bring out its full complexity, or enjoyed as a light, tea-like black coffee.

This coffee comes from Alo Farm in the Sidama highlands, grown at some of the highest elevations we carry, where volcanic soil and cool mountain air shape its character. Naturally processed and intentionally roasted light, our lightest roast so far. Any darker, and half of what makes this coffee interesting would be lost, since the delicate rose and citrus notes fade the moment the roast pushes past that point.

Smallholder farmers handpick only the ripest cherries, with processing tailored to highlight the region's signature floral brightness and fruit complexity.

✨ Light Roast Tips ✨

Light roast beans are denser and less porous than darker roasts, so they need a bit more care when brewing:

  • Rest for 10 days after the roast date before brewing, this lets the beans degas properly for a smoother extraction
  • Grind slightly coarser than you normally would, as light roast can be tougher on grinders and more prone to clogging if the setting's too fine
  • If using a built-in grinder, grind in short bursts rather than one continuous run

A little patience goes a long way with light roast — the payoff is a brighter, more complex cup.
